LG has taken steps to bring their customers better quality audio by infusing Dolby technology into their line-up of music phones.
According to a post on engadget mobile, LG has announced they are the first mobile handset manufacturer to officially license Dolby?s suite of audio processing products for the mobile arena.

Dolby?s audio suite is a suite which includes technology such as bass and high-frequency enhancement, surround sound, graphic equalisation by content type, volume levelling, and their magical mono-to-stereo converter.
Yes we realise its nothing that revolutionary, however, the Dolby name does carry an awful lot of weight, and it is great to actually see a mobile manufacturer consulting legitimate audio experts like Dolby to help improve experience for the customer.

It is always good news for mobile phone users to hear that a manufacturer is dropping mobile handset prices, and that is what is going to happen with Nokia according to an article on Reuters.
Nokia is doing better than their rivals such as Motorola or Sony Ericsson, and Nokia isn?t about to life the pressure, as it has been reported they are cutting prices across all mobile phone ranges to increase pressure on their rivals.
The word is Nokia?s largest price cuts are on the Nokia 5310 and Nokia 5610 music phones along with the 8GB Nokia N81, and virtually all other mobile handsets have seen a cut of about 10%.
This sudden move by Nokia has come as quite a surprise to the mobile arena; one analyst actually called the move a ?Crazy Ivan.?

Probable the one thing that barriers the success of Nokia?s latest N-Gage is that it takes two to play, yes we know it is just as much a single player gaming platform as it is a multiplayer one, but the N-Gage community features are its crown jewel, and it is somewhat difficult to locate another N-Gage gamer somewhere in the world.
However, according to the nokia blog, Nokia?s Aki Jarilehto has stated to attendees at the Develop Mobile 2008 conference, that Nokia is looking at using N-Gage?s assets on none other than the Xbox Live or PlayStation Online.

As yet, there is no clarity on whether there will actually be any interactivity between console and mobile gamers, or even if Nokia is simply looking at another viable revenue stream to augment phone sales.

appears that the clever guys at Nullriver have released what looks like to be a tethering solution for the Apple iPhone. Although we are not quite sure just how they managed to get it past the Apple App Store censors.
Anyway, the Netshare application is only a SOCKS proxy which links a WiFi network to the iPhone?s EDGE or 3G connections and will set you back $10.00.

If it works, it will probably be a tad hacky solution to one of the major limitations Mr. Jobs has placed on the iPhone handsets.
Apparently engadget mobile has tried the Netshare solution, and the instructions are quite sparse to say the least, they managed to get the application to recognise a connection, but unfortunately were not able to load anything. They made a video too, which is below.

The other Instinct applications effected by this firmware update are a saved image can now be set as wallpaper; recurring appointments will be supported within the calendar, and the Instinct?s web browser has been improved.

According to an article on cellular-news.com, Sri Lanka?s government are planning new legislation that would require mobile phone users to carry a certificate to verify ownership when carrying their mobile phone.
The new law is supposed to cut down on terrorist activity and also forbids the lending of mobile phones to anyone.
These proposals have come from the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority, who are also requiring proof of identity to be shown when wanting to buy a new mobile phone.
The authority has said: ?We have taken this step ?to avert irregularities and illegal activities while minimizing threats to national security created by the irresponsible use of telephones.?
These new regulations will also take in the fixed wireless CDMA phones and is to be limited to being used only at the registered address.
