Revenue slowly inched up to reach $366.9 million, compared with $360.8 million for the same time period last year. This is mainly due to the Palm Centro, Palm managing to ship in excess of 1 million smartphones during the quarter which is a 49 percent increase on last year.

iPhone owners might looks pretty smug with their snazzy handsets, but there would be some who grew up in the first half of the last century who sometimes wish that they could relive the good old days of rotary dials? Well, MildMannered Industries has just the tonic for such people with the Bakelite – a rotary phone style dialer for the iPhone. Definitely meant for novel purposes only, as I don’t think you’d want to spend a full minute dialing a number. Don’t expect too much from this though since it is a free software.

While at the annual LG Dealershow LG was questioned on the LG Prada II, which has been rumoured for quite a while, and apparently we are likely to see the LG Prada II hit the stores before Christmas.
LG Sales Director Benelux, Robbert de Graaf, didn?t do any official announcement about the LG Prada II, and when asked to say something about the device he replied: “I cannot and may not say anything about that.”
However when de Graaf was asked if and when would the LG Prada II be announced and come to the market, he answered: “A good turkey is eaten with Christmas. When white fog rises from the skies of Milan the device will be announced there.”
Which I suppose if you picked the turkey bones out of that it could mean we will be seeing the LG Prada II by Christmas.

I remember back in the days where Wi-Fi connectivity was something coveted, and you could have that smug look while sitting at Starbucks reading your favorite news online whereas everybody else had to settle for yesterday’s headlines with the newspaper. Since those early days, Wi-Fi hotspots have grown by leaps and bounds, and it can be quite a hassle to whip out your notebook just to find whether there is a hotspot within the vicinity for you to connect to. With the Wi-Fi watch, you don’t have to do that any more since it can search for the nearest Wi-Fi networks at the touch of a button within a 100 meter radius. Other features include a Chronograph, Countdown, Alarm, Hourly Chime, Dual Time and Lap Memory. This shockproof and water resistant (up to 100 meters) Wi-Fi watch will retail for £24.99.

The Los Angeles Police Department has been labelled as corrupt and brutal for years, whether this is true or not, I don?t know, but one thing you can?t say about the LAPD is that it isn?t embracing the latest technology.
Emulating similar initiatives across the United States, the LAPD has launched an anonymous SMS text messaging tip-line so up-standing LA citizens and now tip off the cops on suspicious activity via text.
So another bow to the public in being able to report a crime to the law enforcers, but the thing is, if they don?t respond quickly to a phone call and get on scene fast, just what difference is a text message going to make?
