Well, would you believe it, the BlackBerry Bold making a special guest appearance with Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention a short time ago.
T-Mobiles BlackBerry Bold has well and truly arrived in Germany but the US haven?t had the official launch yet of the Bold, so not much can be said for its surprise visit to the Convention apart from maybe how many copies are actually floating around the USA or could it have come from Germany?
I guess we may see a little bit of panic from the guys over at AT&T.

The major online Bingo providers are about to enter the mobile arena. Bingo providers such as Mecca Bingo, Ladbrokes Bingo, PartyGaming, and 32 Red have already introduced mobile tech to their online members allowing them to play bingo while on the move.
This is a logical step for the online bingo industry, allowing the hook-up to bingo games via the mobile phone will bring a new freedom to the game, and allow bingo fans to play whenever and wherever they wish.

The latest mobile phone with high internet access speeds will be able to access all the features on the bingo websites which include bingo games, bonuses and bingo promotions, slots and side games, and chat rooms, and all in the comfort of your home or while out and about.

There have for sometime been many whispers about Microsoft entering the mobile arena with their own designed mobile phone, and as yet Microsoft has been quite happy producing for the OS side of the mobile industry rather than any physical handset.
Quote – “Unlike Apple or RIM, which design both their phones and operating system, Microsoft (MSFT) has been taking a different approach for several years — focusing on the OS and letting partners figure out what the gadget will do and where it’ll sell. This is sort of what Google’s doing with Android and its Open Handset Alliance. Despite having its own gadget design teams — which make the Zune and Xbox — Microsoft has ‘no plans to build our own phone,’ says Scott Rockfeld, group product manager for Windows Mobile. ‘Right now we’re happy to share the limelight,’ he adds.”
So there you have it, Microsoft have put all the net whispers to rest by stating they have now wish to build their own mobile phone.

The 24th of September brought the mobile world the Green Heart phone from Sony Ericsson; mobile phones are not biodegradable and include tiny amounts of potentially harmful substances in their batteries which, if not disposed of properly, could damage the environment.
Sony Ericsson?s Green Heart Phone helps redress the balance with the environmental mobile phone, and will research green technologies with bio-plastic housings, recycled plastic keypads, zero charger with 3.5mW power, HTML-based user manuals, educational application ?Ecomate? and environmentally conscious packaging.

Furthermore, to help with the recycling of mobile phones Sony Ericsson has set up mobile phone recycling collection points is the fight to recycle the mobile phone in an environmentally way.

Microsoft has released the first beta version of Phone Data Manager, which is looking like a serious alternative to some Nokia PC Suite features because it supports a wider range of mobile phones including the Nokia S60 second and third editions.
With the Microsoft Phone Data Manager app the user no longer has the fear of misplacing their handset or corrupting the handsets contents as their pictures, videos, music and contacts will be kept quite safe.
Microsoft Phone Data Manager app accomplishes this by synchronizing the users mobile phone contacts with Microsoft’s Windows Live Contacts store in the cloud, or by helping them download files from the mobile phone to their local computer.

Another week, another LG product launch. That’s what it feels like at the moment anyway. Last week it was the turn of the Korean giant’s mobile phone division with the UK debut of the KC910 “Renoir“.
The successor to the popular Viewty, the Renoir is a slim device with a nearly full face touch screen. LG are pushing the device’s multimedia credentials, highlights being certified DivX playback, Dolby enhanced sound and an 8 megapixel camera with lots of trick modes.
It’s launching in the UK imminently on all the major networks and LG are bundling an 8GB memory card in the box to take advantage of all that multimedia goodness.
First impressions are good – I had the chance to examine one fairly closely at the launch and it’s a light, responsive device (with a blinding flash for the camera!). The standard software bundle includes the usual web browser, email client, calendar and an assortment of games. The OS is a completely custom affair (not based on Windows mobile or Symbian) so it takes a little getting used to. Once you get your head around it though it’s easy enough to use.
Hopefully I should be getting my paws on one in the not too distant future, so expect a more complete write up soon. In the meantime, check out Tracy and Matt’s coverage of the launch and take in the full specs after the jump.
- 400×240 touchscreen
- DivX support
- 8MP Camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics and Xenon flash

- ISO 1600 (low light) camera support
- Remote camera trigger (a first for a mobile phone camera)
- Included 3.5mm headphone adapter
- TV output
- Windows software included to convert videos to DivX format
- 8GB MicroSD card and SD Reader included

Following on from the v30 upgrades for the Nokia N95 and Nokia N95 8GB, the Nokia N82 just got its v30 firmware upgrade as well.
The Nokia N82 v30 firmware update is similar to the others but not quite identical as the N82 v30 update includes a more stable Flash Lite3, new Music player visualisations and increased speed and overall performance, Maps 2.0, Share online 3.0, less sensitive auto-screen rotation, and better battery life.

It?s a shame the dim display feature hasn?t been given a fix, however the User Data Preservation being in place means the user shouldn?t have to restore data, apps, or settings.

The latest ?what to know everything about? mobile phone seems to be Research In Motion?s BlackBerry Storm, dare I say it?s kicking up quite a storm! (Bad pun I know) and coverage on the Blackberry Storm keeps storming the net, (again bad pun)
So, over on the CrackBerry forums, CrackBerry member LordObento has posted a few Verizon branded BlackBerry Storm marketing shots for BlackBerry fans to drool over.

Not much else on the old storm front yet, (ouch another bad pun) but I know BlackBerry fans are becoming excited over the Storm and what any news they can get hold of.
