Yesterday, eStarling announced their newest digital photo frame, the ImpactV. The ImpactV has every feature of its predecessors, but what makes this one unique is that it supports video. Hence the name ImpactV (the V is for video and not the Roman Numeral five).
The ImpactV allows a user to take any video that he or she has recorded and upload it wirelessly to the frame. Since the ImpactV is Wi-Fi enabled, the video will automatically appear with DVD quality video and clear sound anywhere, provided there is a wireless connection. The user can also send still photos.
There are some limitations to this technology. The maximum length for video clip is about four minutes. It takes a while for these videos to upload, but a little less time for stills.
The frame is an 8-inch screen with 800 x 600 resolution. It has on-board flash memory of 512MB and an MMC/SD/MS memory card slot in case you want more. The ImpactV also comes with a handy remote control. Other features include options of subscribing to RSS photo feeds, accessing other online video sites, as well as accessing online photo sharing sites like Flickr and Photobucket.
You should be able to purchase the eStarling ImpactV at about $199.99 on the eStarling website. I think this could be “the gift to give” for the holiday.
