Seems the Virgin Mobile Helio Ocean 2 is getting some big news lately as Virgin Mobile issue a press release stating Virgin Mobile?s sponsorship of Britney Spears? Circus tour, and casually throws in that ?Select fans? will receive an Ocean 2 handset.
The reason for giving ?Select fans? a Helio Ocean 2 is so they can capture images and video from each show to share on social networks, email and blogs.
So one can assume unless there are a specific number of Helio Ocean 2?s available pre release that the Ocean 2 will be launched before Britney?s tour kicks off in March.

You know all those mobile phone holders that fix to your belt well they can sometimes let your handset fall out when you bend down, well no need to worry about that with the Kyocera NS01 because it comes with its own belt that allows you to wear in on your waist.
That?s really all that?s special about the Kyocera NC01 though. It?s a clamshell form factor with a 2.8 inch QVGA display, has a 2 megapixel camera and support for e-wallet.
The Kyocera NS01 will undoubtedly arrive in Japan at some stage and as yet no word on what price it will command although I shouldn?t expect it will be much.

Seems we have a few new mobile phones coming to light designed especially for the kids recently, and we have one here today called the Firefly.
The Firefly has been designed for middle school kids and is roughly the same shape and size of a standard candy-bar but has a backpack clip and lanyard.
The Firefly offers n .8 inch diagonal screen with caller ID, no keypad, no camera and no moving parts, but can be customised with skins and cases. The Firefly has a button which auto-calls 911 when required and parents can control the number of calls made via a PIN.
The Firefly mobile phone costs $49.00 when purchased with a service or you can buy it outright for just $100.00.

The word is that at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in February, Dubai based developer of Windows Mobile handsets; i-mate will show a breakthrough smartphone.
Just what sort of breakthrough smartphone that will be is not known but rumour has it whatever it is will be ?like nothing else? and ?revolutionary.?
It could be that as i-mate has a strong relationship with Microsoft that we?ll see something sporting Windows Mobile 6.2 but that?s still speculation. So it looks like it should be quite interesting this year at the Mobile World Congress 2009 all being said.
Oh the image used is of course a mock-up.

The word from iSuppli, they are the guys that try to shed some insight into the actual cost of mobile phones to us mere everyday mortals say that the Research In Motion BlackBerry Storm smartphone has about $203.00 of gear inside.
A few of the BlackBerry Storm innards specs breakdown like this?SurePress screen costs $15.00?3.2 megapixel camera $13.00?Qualcomm MSM7600 $35.00.
That?s just a few and when you consider the Bold costs $169, the Apple iPhone $174, $203 for the BlackBerry Storm isn?t too bad, but no doubt the big difference between those 3 handset would come with the cash spent on marketing, patent, training and the like.

Remember that nasty ?Curse of Silence? virus that hit the net wave not so long ago, the one that enabled an attacker to shut down messaging capabilities on Nokia S60 Third Edition smartphones?
Well it seems the ?Curse of Silence? has now been lifted as Nokia has now pushed out an official free clean up tool which can be downloaded and installed.
So looks like Nokia hasn?t simply forgotten and let their customers just get on with it as they have at least worked with carriers and finally come up with a solution, so no more ?Curse of Silence.?

Here we have a video of the Palm Pre being given the selling treatment by Palm VP Peter Skillman, and we get to see a couple of Palm Pre features we haven?t seen yet.
For instance the Palm Pre?s ?drag and lock? feature which is a circle that the user can swipe out in any direction rather than a horizontal slider like that of the Apple iPhone therefore less precision is required.
There is also the ability to snap an image by using the space-bar rather than the on screen button which also makes taking photos especially self-portraits that much easier.
