The word roaming the net wave at the moment is that Apple is making plans to introduce a new section to the Apple App Store whereby a dedicated section will offer big name game titles for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod touch.

The whisper is that said top notch mobile games will hold a price range of approximately $20.00; although the rumour has it this dedicated App Store gaming section will only be open to a restricted amount of commercial game publishers.

When Apple VP of iPhone and iPod products, Greg Joswiak was asked if smaller developers compete with established player, he responded that apple would like to show off the games, the casual ones and the 3D. Everyone is excited from the big boys like EA, Gamesloft and Sega right down to the small guys.

The UV Razor Sanitizer kills germs

by Techno Witch on January 29, 2009

By now we’ve probably all seen the UV lights meant to sanitize objects, the most popular seems to be the small toothbrush sanitizers. I doubt that it has occurred to a great deal of people that you might want to sanitize your razor as well. Once you think about it, it does actually make sense to sanitize your razor. After all, cuts happen on occasion to even the most careful person. When that does happen, if your razor is germ infested it’s more likely that the cut will get infected.

This could probably easily work for either men or women, but really wouldn’t apply to those that use disposable razors. The UV light kills 99.9% of the germs that could cause you to get an infection. The sanitizer will fit most small razors and would only take a few minutes to run. Then your razor would be all clean every time you shave. It’s a cordless sanitizer and takes two AA batteries to run, which of course, are not included. You can purchase the UV Razor Sanitizer for $29.95 on Amazon.

Ever wondered what a smartphone launch even was like? Well now you can find out by watching the video we have below. It a video shot when Canada?s Telus made official their BlackBerry Curve 8350i smartphone.

Telus help the press event on location at AIM Autosport, which is a firm that race things at fast speed across North America; anyway, AIM Autosport takes advantage of Push to Talk offered on the MIKE system from Telus.

Here we have a T-Mobile commercial for the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, not too sure just how old this particular commercial is but it?s good for a quick giggle.

Apparently, or so the commercial says, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 gets rid of all your ?butt dialling? woes, in other words because it?s a clamshell you don?t accidentally hit the dialling keys when you sit down.

Word is T-Mobile is pulling the BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curves off of European store shelves, the reason apparently is due to a bug that has been causing customers problems.

This yanking of the BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curves only applies to Europe so doesn?t effect T-Mobile BlackBerry owners in the United States.

The word is the problem has been confirmed on the BlackBerry Curve so as a precautionary measure T-Mobile has pulled the BlackBerry Bold as well. No doubt once the problem has been sorted we will see both handsets return to T-Mobile shelves.

Nokia announces trio of phones

by Techno Witch on January 29, 2009

Nokia, the most successful cell phone manufacturer to date, is back with three more handsets for the masses. Sure, it won’t break the bank or look flashy to go along with your Ferrari (if you own one), but it will certainly make millions and millions of ordinary Joes on Main Street happy with the Nokia 6700 classic, the Nokia 6303 classic and the Nokia 2700 classic. All three devices go back to the basics, built on the similar premise that helped Nokia cement and consolidate its position as the world leader in cell phones. The new trio merges the functionality and user experience required in today’s hectic times, accompanied by premium designs and beautiful materials for a well built handset that won’t be priced out of the working man’s budget. Let’s look at the individual handsets right after the jump.

First of all we have the Nokia 6700 classic that will succeed one of Nokia’s most successful products to date, the Nokia 6300. According to Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President, Nokia, “The Nokia 6300 raised the bar in terms of design and premium materials when it arrived in 2006 and topped all sales records for a mid-range mobile phone. The Nokia 6700 moves that bar even higher with a beautiful, slim design and perfectly balanced practicality. Our new arrival shares the same ‘DNA’ as its predecessor and we believe that it will be one of our best selling devices in 2009.” Let’s see whether the heavens will bring to life Petersen’s belief. The Nokia 6700 features a full metal keymat, a 5 megapixel camera and aGPS for easy navigation with Nokia Maps.

As for the Nokia 6303 classic, this entry level handset comes with a 2.2″ display, a 3.2 megapixel camera and is also pre-loaded with Nokia Maps. Nice to know Nokia has included a 3.5mm audio jack that will keep music loving people happy. Last but not least is the Nokia 2700 classic that might be cheap but it does not skimp on features. You get up to 2GB of additional storage via a memory card slot, a built-in MP3 player and a 2 megapixel camera. Guess entry level phones these days are much more decent compared to what we have last time. The Nokia 6700, Nokia 6303 classic and Nokia 2700 classic will retail for 235 Euros, 135 Euros and 65 Euros, respectively, before taxes and subsidies. Expect all three to hit major global markets in the second quarter of this year.

Hi-8 Camera Gun

by Techno Witch on January 29, 2009

Check out this camera, or should we say gun? Heck, we might as well call it the Hi-8 camera gun which hails from the vintage Vietnam era. This device is up for sale, featuring a rifle stock back to show its roots, where word has it that it was developed specially for a military reporter. The rifle segment comes in handy when steadying your shots (film shooting, not shooting at enemies). Best not to bring this to the airport with you lest you get caught and have to dispose of your treasured possession. This is best left at home as an ornament, as it is guaranteed to be a conversation starter for first timers to your home.

BlackBerry 8120 coming to Fido eventually

by Techno Witch on January 29, 2009

Canadians who use Fido may just get excited over this news, as just days after hearing Fido is gaining a BlackBerry; Boy Genius Report has a sneak peek of just which BlackBerry that is most likely to be the first one available.

According to a blurry image Research In Motion is sending the BlackBerry 8120 Fido?s way, although apparently if you happen to want one there is little chance as Fido?s POS machines are not yet equipped with BlackBerry plans.

So it is looking like any potential Fido customer will have to wait until the 4th of February or around that mark before being able to get hold of the BlackBerry 8120 smartphone.

It?s fairly obvious that Apple is secretly working on the next generation of their Apple iPhone, and no doubt when they are good and ready it will become public knowledge, but MacRumors has stumbled upon a snippet of solid info that confirms Apple has a major hardware revision in the works.

Apparently, the latest firmware revisions have hidden inside some nice metadata that refers to a produce code of ?iPhone2, 1? which is definitely a higher number that the Apple iPhone 3G which is ?iPhone1, 2.?

Furthermore, an ad network has been reporting web hits from an iPhone2, 1 so it does look to be quite real. So the question is what is iPhone2, 1?
