You may have to the NVIDIA / Intel license tragedy, the second round. Background: Intel and NVIDIA to an agreement, in the motherboard for NVIDIA Intel chipsets for FSB (FSB, the song, the processor with the rest of the system). In consideration for the license granted access to the NVIDIA Intel patent portfolio. Recently, Intel said that the agreement does not cover new Intel Core i7 CPU.
NVIDIA is the argument that if it is not permitted, the construction of chipsets for future Intel processors, Intel should not be allowed to continue the NVIDIA of IP in their products. As we said, we are not lawyers, and we have no idea how they are a judge, but NVIDIA’s counter-argument is interesting and could be an important leverage effect, especially if short term an impact on Intel ‘s integrated graphics, an important function in the famous low-cost segment. Unwittingly, the modalities of implementation of the Intel graphics chip, it is difficult to know how much it hurt, if the court on the NVIDIA’s. However, it is fair to believe that if the FSB gives Intel a license (to resist for a while), Intel needs patents.

Planet Earth was a pretty mind-blowing nature documentary overall, but I particularly enjoyed the time-lapse footage of the bizarre plants and fungi on the jungle floors. Of course they had the benefit of professional HD cameras and talented cinematographers, but thanks to Hammacher Schlemmer, anyone can capture a time-lapse video of their own garden growing with this dedicated video camera.
The Brinno comes attached to a stake, making it easy to mount anywhere in your garden, and the lens can focus as close as 20-inches away from your subject, or it can capture a 54-inch wide field of view to get everything in frame. It snaps a photo at one of six preset time intervals, anywhere from every 5 seconds to every 24 hours, and the stills are compiled into a single 1280×1024 AVI file for watching on your computer. The camera’s housing is weather-resistant, which means you can set it up and forget about it, and it has a built-in light sensor that turns the camera off at night to extend the battery life. The 2GB USB flash drive it uses can store around 18,000 photos, and on a single set of 4 x AA batteries the camera will run for about 4 months when shooting once every hour.
At $159.95 it’s roughly the same price as a basic Canon P&S, but odds are you’re not going to want to leave one of those out in your garden for months at a time.

Apple has developed and filed a patent on providing a secure way of preventing unauthorised access to the Apple iPhone by placing a biometric reader inside the iPhone.
This new patent biometric sensor would be hidden inside the iPhone or Apple Mac and would be able to recognise a finger vein pattern or fingerprint as the user touches the display. Also a forward facing camera would be able to complete a retinal scan or recognise the user?s facial features, says a report on AppleInsider.
Looks like Apple it taking iPhone security into the future with the possibility of also being able to recognise the iPhoner?s voice, and even collect DNA samples or even recognise the shape of an iPhoner?s ear before allowing a call to proceed.

Twitter is big, many people are using it to let people know about their daily lives, and now Vodafone UK is offering a new agreement for Twitter fans.
Vodafone users in the United Kingdom will be able to send and receive free Twitter messages via SMS, they can receive text messages from those on Twitter they follow and then reply via text message to code 86444 for their tweets, to follow someone, or @replies.
The free service from Vodafone UK is only for a trial period though so you can expect Vodafone to begin charging once that period expires, but as yet what they will actually be charging isn?t known.

The word is that Orange may just be preparing to launch 6 new Google Android based smartphones this year, according to French website Mobinaute.
Apparently Orange will receive these 6 Android platform handsets via 5 different vendors, who are?Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC and Sony Ericsson.
Word also has it that the HTC Hero will be included as one of the handsets, but as for the rest there are no real details. So it would appear that 2009 is to be the year of the Android platform, as no doubt we?ll be seeing even more Android phones hit other carriers than Orange.

Recently, AT&T made an announcement that they would soon offer current AT&T customers no contract Apple iPhone 3Gs. Well it now appears that AT&T isn?t the only ones with that in mind.
Going by a report by Intomobile, It seems that Apple has begun selling their iPhone 3G without and contract with AT&T, and the prices from Apple are an 8GB Apple iPhone will cost $599 while a 16GB Apple iPhone will set you back $699.
With Apple and AT&T now offering contract free Apple iPhones may well point towards Apple gearing up for a new next-gen Apple iPhone launch, thus reducing current stock to make way for a newer version.

Darim Vision has released its latest wearable/portable security camera – the PVE400 portable video encoder/streamer that is able to hold its own in virtually any environment you pit yourself into (assuming you’re the everyday Joe type who doesn’t go indulge in death-defying environments each week, of course). The PVE400 is meant to provide the wearer with black-box-type archiving to its wireless/IP transmission of video, audio, and GPS tracking capabilities. This is one of the latest generation PVE that brings together simultaneous Wi-Fi streaming and local recording onto a flash memory card without restricting users to either-or choices.
There are many situations where real-time broadcasting for ?point-of-view? situational awareness is critical, and these include surveillance to inspection under extreme conditions. Unfortunately at this point in time, current networks aren’t 100% reliable and failsafe, so merging both local recording with simultaneous wireless transmission helps offer an extra layer of redundancy alongside the peace of mind that the entire event can be documented. According to Aaron Taylor, Sales & Marketing Manager of Darim, ?Local recording capability provides that important second opportunity to view the action. Like a black box, this capability provides a permanent archive of what happened. Power can go down, networks can fail, but local recording will continue.?
This recording redundancy turns the PVE400 into a ?must-have? tool for those who want real-time monitoring as well as others who find themselves in situations where archiving is mandatory. The PVE400 was constructed to be rugged enough to withstand harsh conditions, and is currently being used worldwide by the military, SWAT teams, and special-event security. It has also seen action in remote surveillance applications such as airport, oil rig, and mining inspection operations, so for the average user like you and I, we can be sure that it is able to withstand the everyday rigors we subject it to.
