Hot: BlackBerry Storm 9530 gets OS 4.7.0.113

by Techno Witch on March 25, 2009

This is hot news BlackBerry Storm 9530 users; yes here is the leaked BlackBerry Storm 9530 OS 4.7.0.113.

We found via CrackBerry.com that BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm 9530 owners can now download the unofficial OS update called OS 4.7.0.113, you MUST remember this is not the official software so be careful (we only report the news).

We always say make a backup before you go installing this new software, you can download the OS 4.7.0.113 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 right now, right here.

The iPhone is one of the most talked about smartphones at the moment and a question we would love answered is ?Can BlackBerry (RIMM) battle with iPhone? The reason we ask this is because with the new Xobni investment can the above be true.

RIM?s new $3.2 million investment could be the move forward which will give BlackBerry a very smart app called Xobni for managing e-mail in its battle with Apple, you can read more on mastering your inbox and platform war over on BusinessWeek.

The new startup Xobni which makes an e-mail search tool seems to be the move forward for Research In Motion and with the BlackBerry Partners Fund, a massive $150 million venture capital fund is aimed at encouraging development software for RIM?s popular handheld devices. A huge $3.2 million is being funded for Xobni alone which is being led by Cisco Systems (CSCO), which invested about $7 million.

Are you looking for an Apple iPhone 3G on Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Three or O2 network? Well earlier we told you about Play.com offering the unlocked SIM Free iPhone 3G, well we want to ask what you think.

All those living in the UK and not wanting to tie down to O2 can now have this smartphone with any network they wish, the Apple iPhone will work on any of the networks mentioned above but for a lot of money.

Over on Cnet they report saying that Play.com have said that these phones can be registered like normal using Apple’s Web site. Just so you know; apparently you cannot use visual voicemail on these unlocked SIM Free iPhones.

We found something really interesting about Nokia saying Ovi will feature some videos and N-Gage games. The story comes from Forbes.com showing this latest news from Reuters, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) latest news says that Oyj’s Ovi online store will feature some cool video?s even though there are no plans of a full-featured video service.

They will offer mobile games from its N-Gage gaming service through Ovi, which will hopefully be launching in May, apparently the Ovi Store will be in competition with the likes of Apple (nasdaq: AAPL) with their App Store. The question is ?Who will win the smartphone market??

Gaming on smartphones and of course many other applications is the way forward, and people will soon know the full potential of mobile gaming within the next 12 to 24 months. Please read the full interview over on Forbes.com

If you are wondering how much an Unlocked SIM Free Apple iPhone 3G will be we can tell you it will not be cheap, online retailer Play.com is offering unlocked iPhones for those who do not want to be on the O2 network according to The Register.

Now here comes the scary bit; for an Apple 8GB iPhone 3G £549.99, and the 16GB version for a whopping £600 even though we cannot seem to find the 16GB model on sale on their site. These are genuine Apple iPhones that are unlocked to all UK networks, Ok it is more affordable if you buy with O2 or Carphone Warehouse because they will only cost you a mere £342.

Now what we want to know is ?Would you buy one of these Unlocked SIM Free Apple iPhone 3G phones? We have told you before about the Apple iPhone tethering and of course the iPhone 24-month tariff. Please let us know what you think.

This unassuming little box could possibly be the future of PC gaming as we know it. If you’re much of a gamer, you know what the problem is: a couple days after you spend a grand or two on a decent gaming computer, the next generation of hardware comes out and your system is outdated and slow. The solution offered by OnLive could be a great one, if it works… Just outsource all your gaming hardware over the internet, and you’ll never have to worry about upgrades again.

It’s a great concept: why dump a bunch of money into a personal gaming computer when you can run your games on a beastly server that someone else pays for? Of course, it all depends on you being able to play your game on the aforementioned beastly server, which necessarily has to happen over the internet… You just have to transmit your control inputs, and then you receive compressed video of the gameplay while OnLive’s servers do all of the graphics heavy lifting. OnLive says that a 1.5 MBPS connection will let you play games at standard definition with a lag of 2 milliseconds, including video decompression. A 5 MBPS connection can get you 720p at up to 60fps, which again is totally independent of the hardware requirements of the game you’re playing and entirely independent on your internet connection.

It’s not just that you don’t great hardware, you can also use the OnLive system on totally crappy hardware. Or no hardware; it’ll happily hook up to your TV with the aid of a cheap little peripheral that you can plug controllers into. The whole system will be probably set up as a subscription model kinda like XBox Live, and it’s currently undergoing beta testing with a launch sometime later this year.

GDC09: Apogee Previews Duke Nukem For PSP And DS

I stopped by the 2009 Game Developer’s Conference here in San Francisco last night to check out the latest and greatest in gaming hardware and software, and of course the biggest news that there could possibly be is the imminent release of a new Duke Nukem game. And this time, it’s for real. How do I know it’s for real? Because it’s not Duke Nukem Forever, which is the game you really want to see.

Instead, Apogee is releasing six (!) new Duke Nukem games for the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS. Actually, there are sort of only really three games… Here’s the deal: there’s going to be a trilogy of new games: Duke Nukem Critical Mass, Duke Nukem Chain Reaction, and Duke Nukem Proving Grounds. Critical Mass (which we saw a demo of) is somewhere in between alpha and pre-alpha. The other two will be continuations of that plot, and will come out at some “reasonable time” after the first one. While there are two separate games designed for two separate platforms, the storyline is the same, it’s just the style that’s different, so you’re not really missing anything by just playing the games on one platform.

More on the games themselves, after the jump.

So, when I said that you’re not missing anything if you play the game on just one platform, it’s true, as long as you’re playing it on the PSP. This is because the PSP version is rated Mature while the DS version is rated Teen, in order to expand the Duke Nukem audience to young kids who may not be familiar with Duke Nukem 3D. Consequently, only the PSP version is going to have the rampaging and mildly obscene Duke Nukemness that you hunger for (which makes me wonder to what extent the DS version is going to catch on, but that’s a separate issue). For example, while the developers haven’t yet decided on nudity, we did definitely see some hookers or something wiggling their wigglies in the PSP demo. It’ll be “tasteful, but it’ll still be Duke.”

The games should have about 36 levels, for 12+ hours of gameplay. Each will have a complete soundtrack plus voiceovers, and you can start looking for the first one sometime towards the end of 2009.

They itch that only 30-megapixel shooter can not? No, not really hide anything offered by Hassleblad? For the curious, eccentric souls met “Yes” to these two questions, you are happy that the Pentax 645 Digital, which has long been expected – that was canceled after the rumors at any rate – in the way ‘to be released next year. After an update on the website of the Japanese firm, the camera offers 30 megapixels and plays very well with the FA645 55mm f/2.8 objective should start simultaneously. Begin to save those tax credits to now – we can say with absolute certainty that you need every dollar you can save the funds for these suckers
