Verizon Wireless in a joint venture with Vodafone and Verizon Communications will launch a Motorola handset similar to that of T-Mobile, although there is no word on what models either will be launching.

The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G is due to launch in the US in August, however the handset has been available elsewhere in the world. The Google Ion shares the same hardware as the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G and so Cnet has compared the two.
Storage space on the G1 is a top criticism with the OS taking up most of the space leaving just 71MB. The Google Ion now has 512MB of storage so doubles that of the G1 and although shared memory is expected to change on the MyTouch 3G there should be some improvement.
Battery life is another concern with the G1, having the turn off WiFi and GPS and so on to conserve the battery, but due to the 1300mAH battery in the Google Ion this is no longer an issue.
As for form factor, the MyTouch 3G loses the physical keyboard and will have a larger trackball and redesigned navigation keys.
So should you upgrade? It?s probably a personal choice but for me the G1?s physical keyboard is why I purchased it in the first place as I prefer it for texting, so I?d probably give the MyTouch 3G a miss.

So if you have managed to upgrade to the iPhone 3GS you may be considering selling on your old iPhone 3G, and obviously you want a good price for it. Well Cnet has done some checking on what the iPhone 3G can go for.
For instance, a 16GB iPhone 3G on Craigslist and eBay shows that the going rate for an ?mint condition? iPhone 3G is about $400, so it doesn?t take a genius to realise that if you pay the $200 for an iPhone 3GS and sell your iPhone 3G for $400 you end up $200 in profit.
There is also selling you iPhone 3G on to a service such as Rapid Repair who have a program running whereby they will buyback an 8GB iPhone 3G for $230, a 16GB for $270 and even pay shipping costs.

It would appear that the recession doesn?t impact on certain mobile handset, a fact which has been proven by the iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre as the Washington Post reports that Apple has announced sales of 1 million iPhone handsets over the weekend.
However, Apple did not break down the 1 million figure to show just how many of that million was iPhone 3GS handsets or the now cheaper $99 iPhone 3G.
In comparison, analysts say that approximately 100,000 Palm Pre handsets were sold in the first weekend of being available. So it would seem that despite a recession, the iPhone is still the number one mobile handset to own.

Trouble activating your iPhone 3GS? You?re not on your own. The shiny new handsets on AT&T?s network are experiencing problems. AT&T have assured disappointed customers that this problem will soon be fixed.
Apple have notified customers over the weekend that they will be receiving iTunes credit to help their iPhone 3GS activation woes.
Disappointed customers wont be happy in having to stare at a brand new iPhone 3GS without being able to contact friends and show off their new toy, and the $30 iTunes credit probably wont make up for it. For more information please visit IntoMobile

More than 1 million iPhone 3GS smartphones have been sold since the new model hit the stores on Friday, Apple announced Monday. 6 million people have already downloaded the new iPhone OS update since it?s release five days ago.
Steve Jobs says customers are voting and the iPhone is winning, in his first comment since going on medical leave last year.
The 3.0 recent update for the iPhone and iPod Touch, has also found a wide audience from users awaiting new features since its launch last Wednesday. Despite fantastically strong sales at the weekend, Apple is facing new competition with a crowded smartphone market.
Apple watchers are also eagerly awaiting the return of Jobs, a recent report says that the Apple CEO received a liver transplant two months ago.

No new gadget like the Apple iPhone 3GS 2009 is immune to teething problems, especially when it?s connected to a manufacturing and distribution campaign. After the opening weekend there were just a few hiccups, which is expected when you are pushing this many units of anything.
Apple is awarding store credits to individuals affected by the length of activation times on their new phones. Activations should take no longer than a couple of hours although some unlucky individuals are still awaiting to come online.
Error messages appear when attempting to hack support onto their AT&T iPhones using mobile config files online, repeatedly deleting and re-adding the configuration seems to help.
Boy Genius Report says that the sounds played by the phone are immediately followed by a very high frequency pitch tone.

That was the question emailed to The Really Mobile Project, and we have a video whereby they try to answer the question of should you purchase a Nokia N97 smartphone.
Apparently the answer to that question is no you shouldn?t and they go on to give reasonable reasons as to why you shouldn?t buy a Nokia N97 citing a terrible screen, half the buttons aren?t recognised, and the D-pad on the keyboard is in totally the wrong place, and no Nokia Messaging.
However the video then goes on to give the opposite view with it being a beautiful phone. I guess the only way to find out it to view the video below and make up your own mind.

There have been whispers that there is not that many places in the USA whereby the iPhone 3GS can actually take advantage of 7.2Mbps downlink connection except for one hope reports Intomobile.
The one hope is of course Chicago where AT&T went live with 7.2Mbps trails late in 2008 so hopefully AT&T might be letting other iPhone 3GS users in on the 7.2Mbps action soon.

However, they ran some side by side tests as so far aren?t hitting that 7.2Mbps yet although the iPhone 3GS is marginally faster both up and down which could be attributed to the faster processor. So basically as of now the iPhone 3GS isn?t that much faster than the iPhone 3G.
