The Nokia N97 hasn?t been available that long and is already receiving an update to its firmware as of July the 1st reports the BGR.
However the update doesn?t do anything to fix the Nokia N97 keyboard which there has been several reports that the space bar is placed too far to the right of the typing area.
The new firmware will no doubt go some way to fixing many of the N97 bugs that owners are experiencing, but as for the keyboard problem looks like you?re stuck with it.

The Nokia N97 is now available in Indian stores along with iPhone OS 3.0 and thus business-standard has done a comparison to see if the Nokia N97 can compete with the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS although India doesn?t have the iPhone 3GS yet.
They go on to say the Nokia N97 is the first smartphone to ship with Nokia Ovi Store which is similar to the Apple App Store, and then compare processors which the Nokia N97 has a 434 MHz processor and the iPhone 3GS has a 600 MHz processor so Nokia steps back there.
Next they compare batteries where the N97 comes out on top, and the N97?s 32GB is better than the iPhone 3G?s 16GB, they don?t touch on the iPhone 3GS 32GB there. Of course the QWERTY keyboard on the Nokia N97 comes in to play as offering something the iPhone doesn?t, so follow the link for that full comparison.

Nokia, although a world leader in the mobile phone market is moving beyond the mobile arena into the internet services arena according to an article on the Jakarta post.

However by working closely with application developers, partners and content providers new mobile applications could be offered everyday.
Nokia?s internet plan centres on Nokia Ovi whereby Nokia?s ?umbrella concept? internet service will enable customers to access social networking websites, communities, and blogs from one location.

According to an article over on MacRumors, Apple has now posted a rather easy online way for purchasers of the iPhone 3GS to keep tabs on and make sure their local Apple store has iPhone 3GS handsets available.
On Apple?s online database, the iPhone 3GS 16GB and 32GB, black and white models are shown along with a red square depicting iPhone 3GS unavailable, and a green circle which indicates stock available.

So it just might be pertinent to use this online facility and check on current stock levels at your local Apple store before heading out to purchase it.

The iPhone Dev Team have stated they can jailbreak the iPhone 3GS right now, but they will not be releasing it just yet as to do so would only benefit a few rather than the many.
The main reason for holding off on pushing out the jailbreak for iPhone OS 3.0 is that Apple will no doubt push out an iPhone OS 3.0.1 very soon, also ultrasn0w needs fixing and they are going to wait to see just what iPhone OS 3.0.1 offers before releasing their jailbreak.
Apparently the iPhone Dev Team are worried that once the jailbreak is out, Apple will fix the iBoot family bug used to accomplish the jailbreak, and will stop signing old iBoots and just sign fixed ones.
