Garmin-Asus today announced the Garmin-Asus nüvifone A50, a touchscreen Android-powered smartphone with multiple location technologies and apps. It includes Garmin navigation with turn-by-turn, voice prompted directions for use in a car or while walking. Location features are designed into virtually every function including email, text messaging, and photos. The A50 has a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, QWERTY touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera, 4GB internal storage, an expandable microSD card slot, and accelerometer. It integrates Google mobile services with one-click access to Google Search by voice, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, calendar, contacts and Android Market.

The T2i (EOS 550D outside the US) is a new flagship model for the Canon Rebel DSLR line that bridges the gap between an entry-level camera and a true prosumer camera. It includes a variety of new features, including: 3.7 fps continuous shooting, an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to 12,800), a 63-zone Dual Layer Metering System (intelligent Evaluative metering with finer segmentation), and Canon’s DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor. It comes with Full HD 1080p 30 fps video and 18-megapixel still images (CMOS), 3-inch LCD monitor (1.04 million dots, wide 3:2 aspect ratio), HDMI video-out, expanded ± 5 EV exposure compensation, an external stereo microphone jack and support for SDXC memory cards. It is compatible with Canon’s BG-E8 battery grip and new RC-6 wireless remote control for both still images and video capture. The T2i is scheduled to be delivered to U.S. in early March, and will be sold for $799.99 (body only) or for $899.99 in a kit version with Canon’s EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens.

“It is a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price,” said Steve Jobs unveiling Apple’s “latest creation” last week in San Francisco. Although we may doubt if the iPad really brings “magic” and “revolution” to us, we have to admit the prices are unexpectedly low. Yesterday, Apple’s stocks started to climb fast only when Jobs revealed how much we’ll have to spend on the device.
All the rumors were saying the tablet will be not less than $999, and from this point of view the actual prices look really affordable. $499 for the basic version (16GB, no 3G) is something nobody expected; also $829 for the bloated 64GB, 3G version won’t scare anyone.
So, what do you get for this price? iPad is 0.5 inch thick, 1.5 pound device with 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768, LED-backlit, responsive high-resolution Multi-Touch display that features IPS technology and has a wide 178 degree viewing angle.
