Google and Asustek will launch at the convention Google I / O in San Francisco on June 27 to 29, Nexus tablet, the first gadget of this type under Google brand. The IT giant hopes to make it big in the market, and will produce a tablet with top facilities and a very small price between $ 159-179.
The tablet will be presented in premiere to developers of applications invited at the conference at Moscone Center.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect is tied to the price of the tablet. If initially people were talking of a price of $ 199, it seems that Google has managed to optimize their costs so well that the price dropped to $ 159.
At this price and with Google’s reputation, it is likely that the new tablet will beat record sales. The company hopes, moreover, to reach soon a production between 1.5 and 2 million units.
With the new tablet, Google wants to compete with Amazon Kindle tablet which costs $ 199, and the future iPad Mini, which would be launched in the third quarter.
The tablet will come with a HD Ready screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and a processor NVIDIA’s 4-PLUS-1 Tegra 3 SoC at 1.3GHz.
Developed on the model Asus Eee pad MeMo, Google Nexus Tablet will be protected by a Gorilla Glass screen and will run the future version of software Android 4.1.
The tablet, code-named Grouper, will also include the latest version of OpenGL ES launched by Khronos Group.
The tablet will be able to save the content on cloud. It will also benefit from a dock capable of playing 3D content.
