When is a rumour not a rumour? Answer is when it?s an LG Rumor. Apparently Virgin Mobile is to pick up the LG Rumor for their SMS text messaging customers in Canada. Isn?t that nice and generous of Virgin thinking of their texting Canadian users?
The LG Rumor is a 17.8mm thick slider with 1.3 megapixel camera, speakerphone and Bluetooth. But the limelight with the LG Rumor has to be taken by its dual keypad and slide out QWERTY keyboard.

For the lover of texting the LG Rumor is superb with a physical QWERTY keyboard being a nice addition to the numeric keypad, making it ideal for text messaging.
And now Virgin Mobile is bringing the LG Rumor to Canada and will be available in black, and $79.99 with 3 year plan, or you can buy it outright for $199.00. Forthermore if you purchase the LG Rumor online from Virgin Mobile you will receive a $25.00 activation credit. Nice.

Last.fm, a music streaming and social networking site has had a makeover to bring a more ?mature experience? and has added more integration across a variety of devices including the iTunes Store, and is also branching out into the mobile phone market.
Now the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch can officially run Last.fm?s free native application and can stream virtually any of the five million plus songs from the Last.fm library. Users can even recommend new songs as well as gain access to their favourite tunes.

Just so you know, Last.fm?s app UI is inspired by Apple?s iPod but due to apple?s restrictions about allowing apps to run in the background, a user cannot start Last.fm?s iPhone app and do something else like you can with the iPod app.
Oh, and one other thing to remember, streaming music like this could easily eat up your iPhone?s battery while on the go, so bear that in mind.

So are you one of the gagging iPhoner?s that wish they could get hold of an unlocked Apple iPhone 3G handset or even a jailbroken iPhone 3G, and all for the right subsidised price as well? The answer is you have maybe two options…
First option is you wait for the developers to release the Pwnage Tool 2.0 and then set about hacking your iPhone 3G…Second option is you book a flight and nip over to France where you order a prepaid iPhone 3G handset. Well obviously the price won?t be that right, but you won?t be lumbered with a two year contract.
So if you?re thinking about opting for option 2 over in France the 8GB iPhone 3G will cost roughly $808.00 and the 16GB roughly $966.00. Sound good? One small catch, you?ll need a SIM from Orange France, which means it isn?t quite as unlocked as it sounds is it.
Thing is, Orange France is forced by French law to unlock any mobile handsets they sell, sounds like a good law to me, but then the prices shoot up.

The latest blockbuster movie The Dark Knight will soon be upon us all whether Batman fan or not we are going to see The Dark Knight everywhere we look. And to help market the Caped Crusader, where better to place him than on the Apple iPhone.
Yes Bat-freaks there is now an iPhone application available through Apple?s App Store that will let you take your Batman enthusiasm that bit further but allowing you to make yourself look as crazy as Batman?s arch villain the Joker.

Once you have the app simply snap a picture of yourself on your iPhone and apply some cool Joker-ish style makeup and all with the touch of your finger.
The Dark knight iPhone application is much the same sort of app as the Pirate app which ushered in National Pirate Day last year, so let?s hope this doesn?t mean a National Batman Day will ensue. So if you want a ?Dark? makeover pop along to the Apple App Store and grab the app.

Maybe the boxing gloves are being readied between O2 and Apple over supplies of the iPhone 3G. Although O2 has dismissed any suggestion that they are on a collision course with Apple over iPhone 3G stock shortages.
The problem apparently is while Apple seemingly has an abundant supply of the iconic mobile handset, O2 and Carphone Warehouse seems to have been left out in the cold, and left waiting a lengthy time for a second delivery.
Apparently a source has revealed that ?O2 has been put on a back foot by Apple?s plan.?
An O2 spokesperson was quick to deny that the problem has caused resentment between O2 and Apple, and says: ?Apple can?t do upgrades in their store, so that?s one of the reasons we have sold out more quickly. Every O2 store in the country had stock. We were expecting a huge demand and we?re confident that we will fulfil demand by the end of the summer.?
It appears the disaster of iPhone Friday coupled with the problems of low stock along with both Apple and O2 system glitches hasn?t put people off or reduced the high demand for the Apple iPhone 3G.
Are you satisfied? Has the O2 store near you run out of iPhone stock? If so let us know about it.

BlackBerry?s Curve, Pearl and 8800 series is to receive Palringo; a messaging service which extends full functionality of PC based IM services to mobile devices such as picture and voice messaging.
BlackBerry users who use Palringo will be able to chat using voice and picture messages along with the more traditional text, BlackBerry users will also be able to chat with their friends who are using other IM clients such as Windows Live Messenger, GTalk, and AIM all via the Palringo interface.
As with some similar IM applications Palringo shows user contacts from all IM services in a single pane list and therefore eliminating the need to constantly switch between IM tools. Palringo?s “vocal instant messaging” combined real time text functionality with walkie-talkie style voice chat and the ability to share images all within a single threaded conversation.

Palringo for BlackBerry can be downloaded free from the Palringo website.

Well for once it would appear that Rogers Wireless of Canada has learned a valuable lesson concerning data plans. Following on from their attempts to appease the irate iPhone 3G hoards with its generous $30.00 data plan, The GSM carrier has now announced they are to extend the more reasonably priced data plan to cover all their smartphones.
One thinks that this may be a smart more for Rogers, and probably rather than face even more criticism and damaging complains over their data plan pricing, Rogers is to be giving their customers 6GB on monthly wireless data transfers for only $30.00 on their mobile phones such as the iPhone 3G, Motorola Q9h, Palm Treo, Nokia N95, and HTC TyTn.

Although, Rogers is backing this offer up with a “Limited Time Offer” attached, so my guess is if the Canadians customers want to get I of the good data pricing they need to be pretty quick.

Apple launch the App Store so what?s the next move, Microsoft shoves up an attempted competing website, attempted simply because it looks somewhat rushed although it is powered by Silverlight. The new website is dubbed “Windows Mobile Applications” and carries the slogan “DO MORE.”
The Microsoft “Windows Mobile Applications” is there to promote most of the applications that are presently available for Windows Mobile, something like 1800 of them. Unfortunately Microsoft has sort of gone overboard in their attempt to seduce users from the App Store and has slavered it with Flash rather than usability.
Mr. Microsoft is not taking a cut of sales for every Windows Mobile app, he just wants to offer one singular website which users can explore to locate new software. Only problem is, said users are not going to find those apps without the use of a search function. So what do Microsoft do, they create a slow moving carousel for looking through those 1800 apps.
Not good enough Mr Microsoft, you?ve been in the game long enough to know better! Although Microsoft has had their Windows Mobile App Catalogue running before the launch of the App Store, so one point to Microsoft.

If you can remember, Samsung?s original try to create a dual SIM card full touch-screen mobile phone, the P720, wasn?t what one could call a success, well in fact it was actually cancelled due to Samsung not being able to make a dual SIM card UI that would work o the Armani phone like device.
But low and behold, what?s this? Those clever techs at Samsung have improved the touch capabilities with TouchWiz interface and so you guessed it, it?s time for another bash at the dual SIM mobile handset.
So, what in their infinite wisdom do Samsung believe to be the best handset for this new dual SIM card touch-screen second time round? None other than the Armani?s successor, the Samsung F480.
So Samsung has managed to slip in the dual SIM functionality into theF480 to make the Samsung D988 mobile handset which is destined for China, but will probably become the Samsung D980 DuoS if shipped to other countries.
Spec wise: tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900MHz, 2.6 inch QVGA display, 5 megapixel camera with auto-flash, Dual SIM GSM card slots, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB. But as yet no word on if or when Europe will see it.
