Given that most new generation TV sites, even at very affordable prices, are capable of displaying video content in three dimensions, it would be a shame not to take advantage of the same functionality at the office too.

Trying to attract more users in the nets of 3D, AOC is launching these days a new 23-inch diagonal screen, codenamed d2357Ph. With only 10.6 mm thick, the LED backlit panel, as shown in the picture, works equally well with either foot support or without it. If you want to have the screen at eye level when sitting at the office, after you have removed the support, the piece integrated in the panel can be used as a support.

Besides polarized 3D technology, the new d2357Ph monitor comes with both possibility of converting 2D content in 3D and with 2 HDMI 1.4 connectors – for native 3D content. On the conversion side you are not even limited to video content, both static content, like pictures, and the dynamic is played without problems in three dimensions. There is also a D-Sub port, in addition to the two HDMI ports.

In terms of design, the new 3D monitor from AOC comes with a bezel of only 5.8 mm, making it a good candidate for multi-display solutions in which the ultra-thin frame really matters. In the sea, 910XT model will record the channel you swam in, so you can redo the route on the map using Garmin Connect. The robust design and its simple interface make the watch perfect for other water sports including windsurfing, canoeing or kayaking.

Tracking transition between sports: When an athlete is ready to leave the water and climb on the bike, Forerunner 910XT switches easily from the wrist to the bike handle. Xolo X900, created in partnership between Intel and the Indian mobile operator Lava, is a smartphone with 4.3 inch screen and Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, run by an x86 processor from Intel Atom Z2460 family.

Atom Z2460 consists of a single-core 1.6 GHz processor with HyperThreading support, GPU PowerVR SGX580 at 400 MHz and dual-channel memory controller compatible with LPDDR2 chips. The RAM totals 1 GB and the internal storage reaches 16 GB.

X900 boasts with an 8 MP camera aided by LED flash, capable of shooting at 1080p and get photos with a speed of 10 frames per second. The list of features continues with 3G HSDPA+ support, 1.3 MP front camera, NFC technology and an HDMI output for viewing recordings on a TV screen. The headline remains the 4.03 inch screen, able to give 1024×600 pixels resolution images.

Lenovo K800 uses the same 1.6 GHz processor and Android 2.3.7, but comes with a 4.5 inches TFT screen that supports 720p HD resolution.

K800 has a camera with a resolution of 8 MP able to record Full HD. The list of facilities includes a GPS receiver, respectively WiDi, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi N and 3G HSDPA + connectivity for mobile Internet sessions at speeds of up to 21 Mbps.

While Xolo X900 model seems to be limited to users in India, Lenovo K800 is likely to arrive on the European continent too, although initially it will only be launched in China.

General Motors along with NASA has developed a robotic glove for astronauts and production line employees. This gives extra strength to make it easier for humans to catch objects.

The partnership between General Motors and NASA gave birth to a new object. After the humanoid Robonaut, GM and NASA have created K-Glove, a device to assist human undertaking, more exactly a robotic glove. Unlike other futuristic technologies developed by car manufacturers, this one will be used in series production, but not where you initially think. Specifically, GM believes that K-glove will ease their employees work on the assembly line, which must use their own forces to assemble cars.

The first prototype of the robotic glove was completed in March 2011 and the second generation was launched three months later. HTC One X comes with a 4.7-inch screen and 720p HD resolution made from Corning Gorilla Glass. The mobile phone will also be available for the 4G LTE markets with the LTE dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor of up to 1.5 GHz.

HTC One S

HTC One S is designed for users who want a top smartphone in a more compact format. HTC One S has a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor of 1.5 GHz and a 4.3-inch screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.  HTC One S has a metal casing and a thickness of 7.9 mm, the thinnest of all HTC models launched so far.

HTC One S will be available in two versions: ultra-matte black Ceramic Metal, obtained through a micro arc oxidation process, used until now in the production of satellites. It turns the unibody casing surface into a crystal structure, four times resistant than anodized aluminum, which allows the smartphone to maintain its particular appearance. The Sony NWZ-Z1050 has as main features a 4.3-inch touchscreen with 800 x 480-pixel resolution, is running the 2.3.4 version of the Android operating system, 16 GB internal memory and a handful of technologies designed to provide the highest audio experience. The 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor along with the 1 GB RAM, ensures the fact that most applications in Android Market will run smoothly.

Walkman Z draws your eye from the first moment thanks to its great design, more successful than in many high-end smartphones. Its glossy yet aggressive facade and sharp edges is contrasted by the back metal, polished in an eccentric purple tint.

The case may seem a bit big for a user with small hands, but this is the price paid for a large display. On the other hand its weight of only 156 grams is more than acceptable.

In terms of connectivity, we can say that is well set, the gadget featuring Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth and micro-HDMI, in addition to the GPS receiver included by Sony for using Google Maps.

A problem can be considered the lack of a card slot, the internal memory being unable to be expanded.

Software

Sony Walkman Z is an Android device, which means that you will have access to thousands of games and applications from Google’s Android Market. After installing some of the most popular games, such as Angry Birds or Riptide, we can say that they are running smoothly, providing a similar experience to the one seen on smartphones.

However, Sony has customized the interface quite seriously, focusing on quick access to multimedia applications, audio player, video and FM radio. You can access the audio playback widget even when the player is locked by pressing the W.control key.

Z can be used successfully as a mobile device for web browsing too. The native Android browser copes seamlessly with most sites, while options such as Opera or Dolphin can be downloaded from the Market.

In addition to the in-ear headphones included in the package, Sony’s player offers a wide range of audio technologies meant to improve playback, such as S-Master MX or Clear Audio (VPT, Clear Stereo, Clear Bass, Clear Phase, Dynamic Normaliser, DSEE). A strong enough external xLOUD speaker deals with audio playback when headphones are not connected.

In terms of sound we don’t have much to reproach, the NWZ-Z1050 model being one of the best gadgets of this type tested so far.

Supported audio formats are MP3, WMA, Linear PCM and AAC-LC, excluding some of the lossless formats, quite popular among audiophiles though. The player also provides access to the Music Unlimited service, which has a huge database of tracks.

Another interesting aspect is the ability to sort any music collection thanks to the SenseMe function, the selection being made based on 14 thematic channels suitable to the time of day or the mood of the listener.

Device’s autonomy reaches about 5 hours for video playback and about 22 hours for audio.

The new player Sony Walkman Z1050, with 16GB storage capacity will be available starting from this month.

The magic begins when you remove the pen from the special slot, hidden in the bottom edge of the housing, and draw the first lines on the screen in one special application available from Samsung. You will be surprised at how fluid and precise the movements are and how easily and naturally the drawing appears. You can use S-Memo, the basic application, but rather complex, which offers a wide range of colors and tools. The pen is rapidly turning into a thin pencil, a paintbrush or a marker, with adjustable size and even if you are not passionate about drawing, it will be almost impossible not to try to sketch a few lines or try a portrait.

Samsung Galaxy Note is based on a dual core 1.4 GHz processor, a 2500 mAh battery, and at least from what can be seen in the pictures, the pink version will have Android 4.0.

Apparently, the idea of creating such a tablet came after evaluating the results of a market research, in which Toshiba has found that most users do not take the tablet with them when they leave their homes. For them, the presence of a larger screen and a higher resolution may be more important than any compromise made ​​in terms of portability.

For this, Toshiba has equipped Excite 13 tablet with a 13 inch HD screen, LED lighting and perfect for 16:9 cinema films. The 1600×900 pixels resolution might prove useful for social networking fans, the extra 100 pixels easing the viewing of pages in portrait mode.

The operating system is Android Ice Cream Sandwich, running on a hardware chip Tegra 3 – strong enough not to pose problems when playing movies in Full HD resolution.

Toshiba Excite 13 and Excite 7.7 will be released on June 10, with prices of $ 650 and $ 500.

Canon announced officially on Wednesday that the first model from Cinema EOS System series met EBU standards required by BBC for video cameras checked on the EBU R118 grid.

Since the beginning of 2011, EOS C300 is the third of Canon’s professional cameras approved by BBC, joining the Full HD XF305 and XF300 models, which were approved in January last year.

EOS C300 is a compact camera that includes a new CMOS sensor equivalent to Super 35mm which owns about 8.29 PM.

The MPEG-2 Full HD (MPEG2 422@ HL compliant) compression and the recording at 50 Mbps allows video enthusiasts to store directly on two CF memory cards, while the 4:2:2 compression offers improved gradation and fine details, reducing the appearance of artifacts called “jaggies” at the chromatic ends.

As part of the EOS system, EOS C300 model is compatible with Canon EF lenses series of over 60 models. Also, Canon has used their experience in building objectives to create a new line of EF Cinema lenses that are designed for video use, each one of them offering exceptional 4K optical performance and compatibility with the image format equivalent to Super 35mm.
