New iPod Touch Turns into iPhone?

by Techno Witch on July 22, 2009

Well now, Intomobile has an interesting article which claims the next iPod Touch will feature some of the iPhone’s goodness such as a camera and a microphone and is due in the next 3 months.

This will then turn the MP3 player into a respectable VoIP handset without the need for a VoIP application such as Skype when used in conjunction with a mic.

So maybe having a microphone built in along with virtually identical software the iPhone uses may just get more people to use these services and the iPod Touch. That is of course if this is true, so lets wait an hear from Apple first.

iPhone Developed due to declining iPod sales?

by Techno Witch on July 22, 2009

The word from theiphoneblog is that during Apple’s third quarter 2009 conference call, COO Tim Cook stated that traditional iPod sales would start to decline and this is why Apple has developed the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Apple has sold 10.2 million iPods including iPod Touch, and maintained over 70 percent US share of the MP3 Market.

iPod sales decline year on year while iPod Touch sales continue to grow up 130 percent and added to the iPhone sales last quarter. Apparently Apple has always said if someone was going to cannibalise their market it would be Apple.
