Sony announced two new stylish pocket ?bloggie? cameras that offer high quality 1080p MP4 video and still photo shooting, as well as easy web sharing capabilities. The MHS-CM5 sports a vertical grip design and comes with a flip-out 2.5″ LCD screen, 5x optical zoom and HDMI output. The ultra-compact, lightweight MHS-PM5 features a rotating lens that swivels 270 degrees, 4x digital zoom and SteadyShot image stabilization to reduce shake for smoother footage that can be viewed on a 2.4″ LCD. Both cameras also feature Face Detection and record video and still images directly to Memory Stick PRO Duo, SD or SDHC cards.

By connecting the camera to a PC or Mac via the built-in USB, the pre-installed PMB Portable software transfers content to video and photo sharing websites. It includes direct upload to Shutterfly, Picasa, YouTube, Dailymotion and Photobucket.

The MHS-CM5 and MHS-PM5 are available in March for about $250 and $200, respectively.

Sony Launches Flagship HD Handycam

Sony has announced two new flash memory-based high definition camcorders ? the HDR-CX520V and the HDR-CX500V. Both cameras capture full 1920 x 1080 resolution video and up to 12 megapixel photos on internal flash memory. They offer support for up to 25 hours of HD video on the 64GB model. Among the features of both cameras are the ability to output 60p video ? automatically converting convert to 60 frames per second on compatible HDTV sets. Built-in GPS antenna and NAVTEQ digital maps can geo-tag your videos and photos. The HDR-CX500V and HDR-CX520V will be available in September for approximately USD $1100 and $1300 respectively.

Sony has just announced new series of VAIO?s notebooks (although Sony is referring the VAIO W as ?Internet Book?). The W series features 1366 x 768 LED backlit 10.1-inch screen, 1.6GHz Intel Atom, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n, VGA out, two USB ports, Ethernet, webcam and MemoryStick / SD card readers. The model comes with VAIO Media plus Multimedia Streaming software, a media sharing application that lets you wirelessly stream content across DLNA®-enabled devices throughout your home network. The W series comes in three colors- berry pink, sugar white and cocoa brown and will be selling at $630 in early August.

The new TG5V (or TG7 in Europe) is the successor of the Sony Handycam TG1. Weight of 230 grams and measures 117mm x 30mm x 62mm, camcorders, is now smaller and lighter than its predecessor.
